Both of them are undergraduate degrees and the candidate is awarded as a physician or doctor. Students have to study for 5.5 years which includes 4.5 years of proper college education and one extra year of internship (paid). On the other hand, the duration of the medical course in the Philippines is between 5 to 6 years including 1 year of internship. This 1-year internship program is mandatory in most countries because this is the part where the students actually get to practice everything that they have learned either from the books or in their labs.
