Steps to Apply for Private or Deemed Medical Colleges in India (MBBS IN INDIA)

Step 1 – Qualify for NEET

To take admitted to any medical college in India or even abroad, you will require to clear the NEET-UG entrance exam. It is mandatory for future education and career. No, you cannot take admitted into any college or university without clearing it.

 

Step 2 – Register for State Counselling

Once cleared then you have to register for counselling conducted by the state authorities or central authority i.e MCC. The admission will process on basis of merit and locked options. This is done by every state like for Karnataka, register with KEA and Uttar Pradesh, it’s UP state counselling authority.

For Deemed universities, MCC is responsible for the counselling process and 50 % AQI in all government medical colleges of the country.

REMEMBER: Missing counselling means no direct admission to any part of the country, college or university. 

Step 3 – Document Verification

After registration, document verification is done by counselling authorities. This can take place online or offline. Mostly online mode is preferred where said documents are uploaded. In cases of offline, you will be asked to show to the said venue at a particular time with original documents for cross verification. After this process, a verification slip is given.

There are cases where you might have to make a demand draft of 1 lakh or 2 lakh rupees towards the government as security. This is refundable after the counselling process is done.

Step 4: First Counselling

There will be first and second counselling held online. You have to log in and mention the choices of colleges in descending order. Once done, you have locked the option and submitted it.

Wait for the results where the merit list is declared. If you do not get a seat in the first counselling then go for 2nd counselling.

Step 5 – Second Counselling

The same process is repeated by applying online and waiting for the merit list. In case you do not secure a seat in 2nd round of counselling, then apply for the MOP-UP round.

Step 6: MOP-UP Round
