NEET 2020 – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate NEET (UG) is an entrance examination in India that is held every year for those students who want to take admission in undergraduate courses of MBBS and BDS (dental course) in government and private medical colleges. Those students who want to apply for MBBS abroad or BDS abroad also need to apply for NEET exam 2020.  Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the NEET 2020 exam date has been postponed several times. Important Announcement by HRD for NEET-UG Exams Date

Union Human Development Minister (HRD) has announced that the NEET entrance will be held as soon as the situation is normalized.  As per the latest update, the NEET exam to be held on  July 26 2020.

Important Highlight: You need to attend regular and continuous two years of study of essential subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology to become eligible otherwise you can’t apply for NEET. It is the basic eligibility criteria.

  • Students must have completed 12 years of study i.e. completed 10+2 exams from a recognized board.
  • It is compulsory to have subjects in 11th and 12th – Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology. (Regular teaching, practical and training is essential)
  • English can be a main or elective subject.
  • Mark sheet of your 10th and 12th Board exam stating marks of each mark.
  • Students who have given compartment exams or gap year has to show certificate stating the same to the counselling authorizes.
  • Private students who have attended regular classes from a regular school and due to some reasons the recognized treats him as a
  • Minimum age 17 and Maximum age is 25 (general) and 20 (reserved category).
  • Nationality Proof – Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) & Foreign Nationals are eligible.

Who is Ineligible for NEET Exams?

  • Students who have not attended any classroom teaching and training from NIOS, State Open Schools & Private Candidates.
  • Any of the stated subjects treated as an additional subject is treated as ineligible for NEET exams.

NEET Eligibility Marks in 12th

Medical aspirants looking to take MBBS admission and BDS admission need to have subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Biotechnology) and English. To register, the minimum acceptable aggregate marks are as followings:

  • General category – 50% marks
  • SC/ST/OBC category – 40% marks
  • Physically handicapped: General category – 45% marks Physically handicapped: SC/ST/OBC category – 40% marks
