Davao Medical School Foundation in July 1976 in Davao, Philippines. History
Davao Medical School Foundation Inc. (DMSFI), one of the Philippines best medical schools, was established due to the unavailability of doctors in the rural areas and shortage of specialists in urban areas of Mindanao.
To overcome the lack of doctors and specialists, DMSFI was the first university to be started in Mindanao to provide quality medical education, training to undergraduates, aspiring students and provide medical facilities to the island’s local rural people.
The establishment was overseen by an alliance of members those who were Ateneo de Davao University, Development of Peoples Foundation, Broken shire Memorial Hospital, San Pedro College, San Pedro Hospital. Working as an NPO, the university is enlisted with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and also has gained the endorsement of the (CHED) Commission on Higher Education.
Aside from the College of Medicine, Davao Medical School Foundation also works as the College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, the Institute of Graduate Studies, the Institute of Primary Health Care, Centre for Education Research and Development in Health, the Davao Medical School Foundation Hospital.
Davao Medical School Foundation is situated in the middle of Davao City on a 2.5-hectare land which has a stable and pleasant climate, both as far as its climate and its political issues. There are five universities inside the limits of Davao city, just as a few schools and universities.

- The degrees provided by Davao Medical University, MBBS, BDS, MD are fully recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), International Medical Education Directory (IMED), General Council of Medicine of Great Britain, US Education Department, and World Health Organization (WHO).

Admission Procedure for Foreign Students
Anyone outside the Philippines wanting to take admission in DMSF has to provide the following documents
- A personal history statement with a filled application form
- Photocopies of NMAT National Medical Admission Test result.
- Photocopies of Transcript of Records
- Letter of Recommendation from two former professors
- Non-refundable application fees.
All this document needs to submit during the time of application; after all the documents are sent for verification, they are evaluated by the Office of the Dean. After the evaluation of the documents, the applicants are notified about their status of application and admission. DMSF sends the following
- Notice of Acceptance
- Certificate of eligibility for admission
- Personal history statement forms for the applicants to fill up.
